We did, saw, and learned so much in Thailand that I could write a book retelling our experience, of course, I won't be doing that on my blog or posting the 600+ pictures, but I will do a few summaries including all the highlights...so stay tuned.
Below is our itinerary, it probably won't make sense to you, but I'm including it for my own record to help me remember the names of the all the places we visited:
Day 1- 24 hours flying and traveling to Thailand
2-Bangkok, stay at Poa's. Visit Uncle Manut, noodle lunch. Ride Skytrain to Paragon Mall. Siam Ocean World Aquarium, seafood dinner.
3- Bangkok, fresh market. Dim sum at Lotus Hotel. Family party at Yo's house.
4- Bangkok, mall. Jenny Thai massage, Sukiyaki dinner at MK with Uncle Moo, Aunt Dang, and Aunt Pao's family.
5-Chiang Mai, by airplane. Wat Doi Suthep, Bhubing Palace, visit mountain tribe village, Chiang Mai Night Safari and Resort.
6-Chiang Mai, elephant camp and ride. Bamboo raft ride. Maesada Snake Farm. Butterfly and orchid farm. Krisdadoi Resort and swimming.
7-Chiang Mai, Golden Dome Temple. Obluang National Park. Koaman Cave. 1000+ curves on road trip to Mae Hong Son, night market shopping.
8-Mae Hong Son, Imperial Tara Hotel. Long-necked Karen tribe village, swimming, lunch at Fern Restaurant, Temple Phra That Doi Kong Mu, Thampla "Fish Cave" National Park, drive to Pai, shopping.
9-Pai, Pai Come Hideaway Resort. Temple Water Mu. Hunan Mongolian refugee village, drive back to Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium and pandas. Night Plaza shopping.
10-Chiang Mai, Krisdadoi Resort. Swimming. Roong Aroon hot springs. Umbrella and paper making facility, lacquer factory, mall. Fly back to Bangkok.
11-Bangkok, Dave arrives.
12-Bangkok, Siam Niramit dinner and theater. Live Thai cultural history show "Journey to the Enchanted Kingdom of Siam"
13-Bangkok, Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Dinner with Auntie Vareeya.
14-Bangkok, Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand, Bang Pa-In Palace, Ayutthaya ruins and river boat ride.
15-Bangkok, Damnoensaduak Floating Market, Siam Cultural Park wax museum, Jenny's birthday.
16-Pak Chong, Phu Hin Suay Resort. Swimming, foot massage, moth attack.
17-Kho Yai, Greenery Adventure Park for balloon ride, slingshot and zipline. Kho Yai National Park. Drive back to Bangkok dinner at Jasmine Chinese restaurant. Stay with Aunti Archeree.
18-Bangkok, traffic jam on way to temple for monk ceremony, back to Poa's after Ashley got sick.
19-Krabi, by airplane. FV Garden Resort. Emerald Pool and Salty Hot Spring.
20-Krabi, Jenny to doctor. Drive to Ao Nang beach, long-tail boat ride, swimming, snorkeling. Ashley stung by jellyfish. Crab dinner at FV resort.
21-Trang, by car. Thai road trip with many stops. Dim sum breakfast, cake shop, Thep Tharo wood, cashews. Le KhaoKob Cave. Jenny Thai massage.
22-Krabi, Ao Nang. Krabi Reosrt, breakfast and lunch beachside. Swimming and playing on the beach, pedicures. Fly back to Bangkok.
23-Bangkok, JJ weekend market. Family dinner and party at Yo's house. Meet Uncle Poke and Aunt At.
24-Bangkok, Dave goes home. Shopping at MBK and JJ malls.
25-Bangkok, shopping at the mall. Visit Auntie Archeree at Veloil headquarters, dinner at Toyo Ichiban.
26-Bangkok, shopping again JJ mall. Visit from Auntie Eat-K on her birthday. Sukiyaki and birthday cake. Ashley and Paige get Thai massage.
27-Wake up at 3:30 am to fly home.
