Pictures of Piles

As summer comes to a close and the new school year draws near, it's time to get organized and get some work done around the house!  Because as you can see things are starting to PILE up!

After two days of going through EVERYTHING in the girl's room we ended up with this big pile of stuff to donate.  We also had another pile of equivalent size that went straight to the garbage and a third pile of clothes that was boxed up and saved for Paige to grow into.

Piles of stuff waiting to be organized
Our "little" organize the house project has turned into a pretty "big" project.  We still aren't done.  We have worked on it for a few straight days but have had to stop here and there for other scheduled activities.  I was hoping to have it all done before school started but it doesn't look like it will happen.  We are finished with the top floor, almost done with the main floor but haven't yet touched the basement.  My new goal will be to finish by Labor Day!!

about 300 pouches of juice!
Is it almost time to start packing lunches again?  Well, then I guess I  better stock up.  Thanks to an awesome sale, I think I probably have enough to last for the whole school year.

Of course, it couldn't be the end of August without fresh garden veggies all over my counter.  This year the harvest has been later than usual and smaller than expected.  We are still getting enough produce to keep are veggie intake high, but I doubt I'll be doing any freezing or canning like I usually do.  Not even our pumpkin patch is doing as well as it did last year.  I think it has just been a weird weather type of year, with more pests like insects and weeds to deal with.
