October is so insanely busy around here that we had to schedule Paige's birthday party a little early, on the only weekend we were free. Fortunately, she was happy to "outsource" the party, because honestly, I did not have a spare moment to put on a theme party at home.
Of course, it took a little while to decide where to go for the party but in the end she went with a gymnastics birthday party. I booked it at a really nice gym near our home. We had the whole gym to ourselves, the partiers had a great time, and it was so easy for Dave and I. All we had to do was bring a cake and show up.

Paige invited 10 friends to her party. The gym provided a "coach" that led the girls through all sorts of activities. They played games, jumped on the air tramp and regular trampoline, flipped on the bars, swung on the rings, climbed ropes and even did some parachute games. It seriously was so much fun and I loved how it kept the girls moving. We also learned that it is REALLY, REALLY hard to climb out of a foam pit--lots of fun to jump into but quite a workout to get out.

After playtime in the gym, our coach hung up the pinata we brought. Paige picked it out the day before. It was a giant cupcake with streamers coming out the bottom and we found that instead of having to wack it with a stick, you could pull the strings one at a time and release a trap door. How cool is that? I didn't even know they made pinata's like this. No more worrying about wayward swings with a bat. The girls loved it, because they had to take turns pulling strings, never knowing whose was going to open the trap door.
After pinata, we had cake and opened presents...then it was over. Paige said that it was, "the best birthday ever!" What a sweet girl, it always nice for parents to know their efforts were worth it!
