PTA

So yep, I'm still doing the PTA thing at Paige's school. To be honest, some days I don't mind it at all and am glad to be involved and then other days I keep asking myself what is wrong with me and why, why, why am I in the PTA?

Anyway, we have no problems with membership, a very good percentage of families join the PTA, but we would like to improve involvement. We also wanted to have more PTA activities that are family friendly. So this year we have added family and kid friendly activities to our PTA meetings. Basically, parents go the the PTA meeting while their kids are involved in fun games in the gym. After the meeting, the parents join their kids for socializing and PRIZES. It's always good to have prizes.

At our most recent meeting, the theme was "healthy families." We had healthy refreshments and lots of games for the kids to play. The activity ended with a huge raffle of prizes donated by local businesses. In fact we had so many prizes, that basically every kid walked a way a winner. Paige won a yoga mat, that for some reason was one of the prizes everyone wanted. I'm happy for Paige and that she was lucky enough to win it, but honestly, I would have rather won the 3 free smoothies from Robek's!
