Easter Weekend

Let's just start out with another entry to add to my "eating blog." Yep, to the left you will see the spread we enjoyed on Conference Saturday. I might mention that it was just for me and the girls. Of course, it was way too much food, but putting it together was fun and now we have lots of yummy leftovers.

Fortunately, on Sunday we had lots more people, including Dad to celebrate and eat with. The morning began with Easter baskets!

Shortly after, our friends the Griffin's came over to spend the day with us. We watched Conference and ate Easter dinner together. The Griffins brought lots of tasty side dishes, included dutch oven potatoes. The best part is that Ashley got a lesson in dutch oven cooking from Aaron:

Our contribution to dinner was the baking. We baked the ham, bread and desserts. Here is my new baking experiment---Braided Easter Egg Bread. It was pretty and tasted okay, but next year I think I will use a different bread recipe.

After dinner, Dave and Juliann hid a bunch of plastic eggs in the backyard for an Easter Egg Hunt.

Here are the kids waiting for the signal to start.

The hunt was a success with lots of eggs for everyone, we even had our neighbor's little daughter come over and hunt with us too.

The day wouldn't be complete without a little dessert for a sweet ending. White coconut cake and/or red velvet cake.
