The Nutcracker

Paige made her dance stage debut in the Nutcracker. It's been a pretty big project, with auditions, rehearsals, costume fittings, make-up, and pictures consuming our time throughout the Fall.

Backstage, ready to go on
The show finally arrived the first week of December. I wasn't sure what to expect for a local production with a cast of kids, but we were pleasantly surprised. The show was actually very good and the production value was pretty high. I was blown away by the costumes and scenery. They were great!

Of course, the best part was watching Paige, she loved it so much. She was in two scenes - the battle scene as a mouse and in the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy as one of the flowers.
Can you find my little star?!

On opening night, the Edrosa's gave Paige and Riley a little Nutcracker. On closing night, we gave the girls flowers. I definitely think they felt like stars!

The captivated audience
Paige already wants to do it again next year, so this may become a holiday tradition, at least until she loses interest!

Our only hiccup was that Paige had an allergic reaction to the tons of makeup she had to wear, so on the second night she had to go without. It didn't really matter though, her face was so red because of the allergic rash it was like wearing makeup!
